(© Joseph Marzullo/Retna) | Hugh Jackman will host this year's Academy Awards, to take place on Sunday, February 22 in Los Angeles. It will mark his first time hosting the event.
Few details have been released about the ceremony. Tony Award nominee David Rockwell will be the production designer, and Broadway veteran and film legend Jerry Lewis will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.
Jackman, who was recently named People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive," won Tony and Drama Desk Awards for his role in The Boy From Oz on Broadway, and is currently on the big screen in Australia. His many other film credits include the X-Men trilogy, Happy Feet, The Fountain, and Van Helsing. He has also hosted the Tony Awards.
