in Wittenberg |
Full cast and creative team information has been announced for Orlando Shakespeare Theater's production of David Davalos' Wittenberg, to run at the John and Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Center in Loch Haven Park, January 23-February 16. Matthew Pfeiffer will direct.
The play features university colleagues Dr. Faustus (a man of appetites) versus Martin Luther (a man of faith), and their struggle for the soul of young Hamlet, Prince of Denmark (a youth struggling not only with his beliefs but also with his tennis game!). The work is presented as part of Orlando Shakespeare Theater's sixth annual PlayFest.
As previously announced, the production will star Orlando Shakes' Artistic Director Jim Helsinger as Dr. Faustus and Eric Hissom as Martin Luther. The cast will also include Sarah Ireland as the Eternal Feminine, and Zach Robidas as the young Hamlet. The production will feature a set by Bob Phillips, lighting design by Kevin Griffin, sound design by Bruce Bowes, and costumes by Mel Barger.
